‘The Conversation is a global not-for-profit journalism project that pairs professional editors with academics to publish articles that share new research and explain issues in the news’

During my 18 months at The Conversation (TC) in a part-time capacity, I was able to develop the direction for the largest campaign of the year, that would span beyond The Conversation Australia & New Zealand to their international editions, including UK, US, Canada, France, Indonesia, Spain and Africa’s audiences.

Working within the existing and well-established TC brand, the brief was to push the envelope of any previous brand material, creating engaging visuals that would encourage re-occuring donations from existing subscribers, as well as reach new audiences.

Working closely with Design Director at the time, Zoe Jazz, I was able to create a visual language that felt true to data visualisation work we had been developing this year to create various digital and print outputs for this campaign. The internal team felt the visuals spoke closely to the existing and previous brand guidelines, and it was the most successful campaign yet for The Conversation globally.
